Curfew restrictions in Hungary

Decree number 71/2020 on curfew restrictions (III. 27.) aims to slow down the spread of the COVID-19 virus epidemic. Because the Government Decree brings significant changes into our daily lives, accurate knowledge of it is important for everyone.

As a general rule, the Government Decree stipulates that everyone is obliged to keep their social contacts to a minimum and to keep at least one and a half meter distance from others, except those who live in a common household.

It is forbidden to stay in the restaurants for people who do not work there and the restaurants can only supply food through delivery and takeaways.

The most vulnerable group againts the virus is people over the age of 65. In order to keep these people out of contact with their fellow human beings as much as possible, people in this age group can only shop between 9am and 12pm in grocery stores, drugstores, markets and pharmacies. During this period, people under the age of 65, with the exception of those who work there, are not allowed to stay in these premises, the possibility of shopping is available to them before 9 am and after 12 noon.
